During the 2007 Cinekid Exhibition kids were surprised to find an enormous phone that displayed a phonenumber on it’s screen. As soon as they called that number (often a parent would assist), the phone lit up and it started blowing soap bubbles for 30 seconds.

The title refers to the double meaning of the word “bellen” in dutch, as it means both “calling on the phone” and “bubbles”. The simple project is one of our most used examples when we talk about what we do, and why we love doing it so much.

The concept was thought up by Levien Nordeman. Technology was in the hands of Tijmen Schep. The phone was kindly donated by Nokia. In return we sent them a framed picture of the project, which now hangs in the cantine of their main Dutch office.
